System Requirements

Your computer must meet the hardware and software requirements before you attempt to install TechWriter.

Hardware Requirements

This table shows the hardware requirements for installing and running TechWriter.

Hardware	Minimum requirements
Computer	Intel Pentium II or compatible, 166 MHz or higher. Intel Pentium 4 recommended.
Memory (RAM)	512 MB
Hard disk free space	1000 MB

Operating System Requirements

To use TechWriter, you must have installed one of these operating systems:

Windows 7, any edition.
Windows Vista, any edition.
Windows XP, any edition.

HTML Help File Requirements

If you plan to generate your documentation in HTML Help File format (CHM), you will need to have Microsoft's HTML Help Workshop SDK installed on your computer. Visit http://www.adivo.com/htmlhelp-info.aspx for download information. There is no charge for the SDK.

PDF File Requirements

In order to view documentation generated in Portable Document Format (PDF), you will need a PDF viewer, such as Adobe's Acrobat Reader, installed on your computer. Visit http://www.adivo.com/pdf-info.aspx for information on downloading the Adobe Acrobat Reader. There is no charge for this software.

Word/RTF File Requirements

In order to access documentation generated in Word/RTF format, you will need Microsoft Word 97 or later version, or any word processor that supports the RTF standard.
