File Menu

When you click on the File Option on the Main Menu, the following drop-down menu will appear:

File Menu

The File Menu contains options for working with project files and exiting TechWriter. Project files allow you to save your work in a project file so that when you leave TechWriter and return, you can continue working where you left off.

File Menu Option Description

New Project Create a new project.

Open Project Open an existing project.

Close Project Close the current project.

Refresh Project Refresh the project.

Import Annotations... Import annotations from a text file.

Save Project Save the current project.

Save Project As... Save the current project using a different file name.

Export All Annotations... Export all annotations to a comma-delimited or XML formatted file.

Export <Source> Annotations... Export annotations for the given source to a comma-delimited or XML formatted file.

Recent Projects Open a project that was recently accessed.

Print Topic... Print the topic currently displayed on the Annotations tab.

Buy License... Purchase a license for TechWriter.

Enter Serial Number... Unlock TechWriter by entering your registering information.

Exit Exit from the TechWriter application.
