Oracle Settings

TechWriter supports documenting Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g databases through the Oracle source. When you add an Oracle source to your project, TechWriter displays the following dialog.

Use this dialog to specify your Oracle connection settings.

Oracle Setting Description

Data Source The location of your Oracle database specified as either a TNS name or an EZ Connect string.

Connect using Windows Authentication Select this option if your Oracle server uses Windows Authentication to identify users.

Connect using Oracle Authentication Select this option if you are using Oracle's built-in authentication to identify users.

User Name The name of a user that has permission to the Oracle server and database.

Password The password of the user.
